Central Christian College and Manhattan Christian College swapped one-run baseball verdicts Friday at Wall Park.

The Crusaders were a 4-3 winner in the first game, as CCC’s two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh ran out of steam.

Martin Guevara and Clayton Lacher both collected two hits for the Tigers, with Lacher driving in two runs. Doug Gove took the loss.

The second game belonged to Tiger pitcher Braxton Lorenzini, who twirled a two-hit shutout in a 1-0 Tiger win. The only run came in the fifth on a double by Nicholas Campos, who drove in Tyler Gniadek.

Lorenzini was masterful, walking only two and fanning six. His batterymate, Lee Stoops, had two of CCC’s four hits.

The two teams meet again Saturday, this time in Manhattan.
