GENEVA, Ohio — It was a fruitful trip for the McPherson College track and field team at the 2014 NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships this weekend as they came away with a couple of All-Americans in Sharica Pleasant and Arryana Barton.
Four school records fell for Mac and six personal records were set as well.
Pleasant started the meet off on the right foot with her sixth-place finish in the women's pentathlon. She set a pair of personal records en route to her 3,380 point total, which broke the McPherson school record.
Barton closed out the meet with a third-place result in the women's triple jump on the final day of competition. Her leap of 39-1 would have been far enough to win the meet a year ago. She also took sole control of the shot put record as she posted a 43-7 to finish 12th. The Bulldogs combined for nine total points and were the only KCAC women's team to score any points in the three-day meet.
On the men's side, Paul Rotering yet again snapped his school record, launching the shot put 51-6 1/2 on his first throw. The senior was less than half a meter from medaling in his final track and field indoor meet.
The Bulldogs don't have long to wait before their first outdoor meet as all of McPherson track and field heads to Winfield for the Southwestern College Invite on March 13.
