Vikings dominate CKL wrestling honors

LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley’s wrestling team was the Central Kansas League champion and it was no surprise the Vikings dominated the postseason CKL honors.

Five Vikings earned first-team recognition, including 170-pound Class 4A state champion Austin Cook, who was 44-0 on the season.

Other first-team Viking picks were Austin Lustfield at 106, Spencer Bird at 182, Ethan Loder at 195 and Brix Brickey at 285. Bird and Brickey took third in Class 4A in their respective divisions.

Honorable mention for the Vikings were Noah Lackey at 126 and Brandon Archuleta at 132.
