HILLSBORO — Seven errors proved to be costly Tuesday, as Central Christian College’s baseball team kicked away a 14-10 decision to Tabor in a single, nine-inning game.

After trailing 2-0, the Tigers erupted for six runs in the second inning and still were up 8-5 before a disastrous fifth inning did them in, as the Bluejays struck for six runs. The Tigers could never recover, even though they battered Tabor’s pitching for 14 hits.

Clayton Lacher and Drew Schiesser crashed homers for Central, with Schiesser driving in three runs and Lacher adding two RBIs. Other CCC leaders were Zane Howard (three hits), Martin Guevara (two hits, two RBIs) and Tyler Gniadek (two hits). Alan Baker took the loss for Central.

The loss, which snapped CCC's three-game winning streak, dropped the Tigers to 14-10 on the season while Tabor improved to 16-5. Central hosts Morningside College on Saturday.
