SALINA — All that could stop Central Christian College’s Treg Fawl in the Kansas Wesleyan Invitational Golf Tournament was the weather.

Fawl blitzed the field with a 4-under-par 66 on Saturday at Salina Muni in the first day of the two-day event, but poor weather conditions forced a postponement of the final round today.

Fawl, who is playing a part-time schedule this spring due to student teaching obligations, thus is a champion in his first event of the year.

CCC’s Brady Sherman wound up 10th with a 76. The Tigers’ only other golfer, Mathew Harget, shot a 91.

Bethany’s Chence Tayi Chikwari was second with a 70, while the Swedes’ Thomas Felhng shot a 73 and Jacob Hebbel carded a 74. Also for the Swedes, Lewis Blair and Tanner Thurman both shot 77s.
