Central Christian College’s good vibes of an earlier-in-the-week four-game softball winning streak were erased here Saturday when Clarke University completed a four-game weekend sweep.

Clarke, which had won two games on Friday, duplicated that feat Saturday with 10-9 and 8-1 victories.

CCC, which had crept to 6-8, is now 6-12.

The Lady Tigers appeared to have salvaged Game One, leading 7-4, but Clarke erupted for six sixth-inning runs before holding off a CCC final-inning rally.

Kristen Hall and Dana Dean hit homers, with Hall finishing 3 for 3. Sydney Nelson smacked a pair of hits. Constance Baker and Lizzie Caron drove in two apiece.

Hall took the loss, even though she fanned nine.

The Lady Tigers could get nothing going in the second game, being held to six hits. Hall had a double and single. Cristina Insua took the loss, though she gave up only one earned run.

CCC plays Tuesday at KCAC member Sterling.
