Tim Maier from the McPherson Board of Public Utilities had good news for the McPherson City Commission on Monday.
Maier said, "Depth to water in our well field on average went up .708 feet. This is the first time that has occurred since pre-2000. If you look at the individual wells, we had one well that dropped one foot and all the others, we had two wells that actually went up two feet. We had some wells that stayed the same, but again, I think overall, that's really good news."
Maier noted that though McPherson did not receive that much more rain than normal, because of when we got rain, there was a lot less watering, particularly in the agricultural sector than there has been in the last few years.
