LINDSBORG — For the second time this season, Bethany College’s Dan Eck has been named the KCAC Pitcher of the Week. The right-handed pitcher is a junior from Seattle, Wash.

Eck pitched a complete game shutout in the Swedes’ opening KCAC doubleheader against Friends University. Eck threw all seven innings of scoreless ball in the second game. He allowed only one hit, walked none and struck out seven. He faced 22 batters and only needed 67 pitches to complete the game.

"Dan has been great for us all year. This is a wonderful honor to win twice this early in the year,"  Bethany coach Andrew Bartman said. "I will enjoy watching him continue to progress as both a pitcher and as a person as the year goes on."

Eck and the Swedes will be in action again this week when they travel to Salina Thursday to play Kansas Wesleyan.
