The McPherson Public Library is holding a bookmark design contest, where everyone can create their own unique bookmark and enter it for judging. The winners will be announced during National Library Week (April 14 through 18).
There are 15 categories – one for each grade in school, as well as one for pre-school children and one for adults.
Two winning designs will be selected from each category, and those bookmarks will be reproduced by the library and made available for patrons to take when checking out books.
Anyone interested in entering the contest must complete an entry form, which also includes a template on which to create the bookmark. Entry forms are available at the library or online by visiting the library website at www.macpl.org and selecting the “Bookmark Contest Entry Form” link in the Weekly Bookmark section.
Only designs created on the entry form will be accepted. The deadline for all submissions is Monday, April 7.
“This is our fourth year holding the Design a Bookmark Contest, and I have been blown away by the amount of creative young people in McPherson!” said Abby Bohnenblust, the Children’s Services Assistant who is coordinating the contest. “Because we’ve had such a great response each year, I decided that this year we will open the contest up to adults as well. I am excited to see what the adults will come up with!”
