As the McPherson County All Schools Day moves into its second century of celebrating students, it’s time to reflect on what makes ASD such a special event for the McPherson County community. Everyone has at least one story to share and the ASD Committee wants to hear those stories.

The committee created a writing contest to try to help capture some of those memories. “My Favorite All Schools Day Memory” writing contest asks anyone interested to write down their best memory in 101 words or less and send it to the committee. The top entry will receive $250 in cash and have their story featured in the commemorative All Schools Day program.

Rules of entry

The contest is open to anyone who currently resides or has resided in McPherson County.

Entries should be no longer than 101 words and written in a first person narrative.

Photographs that help illustrate or contribute to the subject material are encouraged but not mandatory.

Entries must contain the name, age, address and telephone number of the entrant for judging purposes. Personal information besides your name will not be published. Winner will be asked to fill out a W-9 to process payment.

Entries can be mailed to the ASD Committee, 306 N. Main St., McPherson, KS 67460, dropped off at the same address or emailed to [email protected] with the subject line “ASD Memory.”

All entries become property of the ASD Committee and may be used for promotional purposes. Photos will be scanned and returned.
