The McPherson High softball team, under first-year coach Danica Fitzmorris, was hardly idle over spring break this week.
The Bullpup team held a youth clinic for girls in grades 1-8. For three days, the Bullpup players taught skills to the youth and culminated that training with a game on Thursday.
According to Fitzmorris, Tuesday was pretty chilly, but overall the weather cooperated to make for a very successful turnout of 29 participants.
This will become an annual offering, so future youth softball players should take note for next spring break.
The Bullpups open their season March 27 at Rose Hill. The home opener is April 10 against Circle at Grant Sports Complex.
