Two Tigers named Academic All-Americans

Two Central Christian College men's basketball players were honored this week by the NAIA as Scholar All-Americans.

Dustin Rojas and Scott Brooks, who were also All-Conference Scholar Athletes in the MCAC, are among 134 NAIA men's basketball players across the country to be named Scholar All-Americans.

To be named to the Scholar All-American team, nominees must be at least a junior and above in academic standing and carry a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. They must also appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.

Both Brooks and Rojas are Sports Management majors. Brooks is a senior from Vancouver, Wash., and currently carries a 3.59 cumulative GPA. Rojas is a junior from El Paso, Texas, and has been nearly perfect in the classroom. Rojas has a cumulative GPA of 3.93. Brooks played all four years on the varsity team and will graduate this May. Rojas was a major contributor this season will be back next year for his final season on a team that will be looking to make some postseason noise.
