BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The bats remained silent Saturday for the Central Christian College softball team.

The Lady Tigers, who were held scoreless Friday by Central Baptist, were again bageled Saturday by Oklahoma Wesleyan, both games by 8-0 counts.

Cristina Insua was the losing pitcher in the opener, with Nicole Martin being tagged with the loss in the nightcap.

Chandler Gerk had two hits for CCC in the first game and Ashly Westgarth had two hits in the second game. The Lady Tigers totaled seven for the two games.

“After a stellar performance against a great team in Game 1 on Friday, it all went downhill after that,” CCC coach Chad Kerr said. “I think we left our bats in Kansas as we just couldn't hit.  Also, we just didn't show much pride, heart or toughness on this trip.  There’s still a lot of season left and the young Lady Tigers will continue on the learning curve and I still think this team will win 20-plus games this season."

Central is now 7-17 on the season and 2-4 in the MCAC. It is gearing up for the big crosstown rivalry game with McPherson College on Wednesday, with first pitch at Wall Park set for 5 p.m.
