Central Christian College’s baseball team and Sterling College managed to play through the wind and mist here Wednesday, with the Warriors coming away with a 13-5 victory to deal the Tigers their third straight loss.

CCC is now 15-18 after being 14-9 at the 23-game mark.

This single, nine-inning game was deadlocked at 4-all going into the eighth when Sterling erupted for six runs, then added three more in the ninth.

Alan Barker pitched an admirable seven innings for the Tigers before faltering in the eighth. He did not permit a walk and fanned seven.

The Tigers could manage only six hits, two by Tyler Gniadek. Lee Stoops was credited with a pair of RBIs and Daniel Padilla hit a pinch-hit homer.

CCC has a huge homestand coming up against College of the Ozarks, as the teams play a pair both Friday and Saturday. Friday’s action begins at 9 a.m., with Saturday’s games at noon. All the action will be at Light Capital Diamond.
