Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch), in conjunction with ADS Environmental Services (ADS), has been retained by the City to conduct sewer system flow investigations throughout the City of McPherson. Flow monitoring activities are expected to occur between March 31 and June 1, 2014.
A flow monitoring team will consist of two people. They will be wearing a uniform shirt, vehicles will be marked with an identification sign, and each inspector will be carrying an identification badge.
Installation of flow monitoring devices inside certain sewer manholes will occur Monday through Friday the week of March 31, 2014, usually between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
This work is being conducted to assess and determine the existing flow capacity of the City's sanitary sewer pipes. This will allow the City to make informed decisions concerning the impact future increases in flow may have on the existing sewer system.
General questions or concerns about the project may be directed to Jeff Woodward, P.E., Public Works Director or Mike Wagner, Treatment Plant Superintendent. They can be reached at (620) 245-2545 or (620) 245-2540, respectively.
