Central Christian College’s baseball team can’t seem to stop its slide.
The Tigers are now 15-22 after losing twice here Saturday as they have lost 13 of their last 14 games after a 14-9 start.
College of the Ozarks won both games by 8-4 counts.
A four-run fifth inning was the difference in the opener as CCC trailed only 3-2 at the time.
The Tigers pounded out 10 hits in defeat, including three by Alex Rodriguez. Zane Howard had two hits and two RBIs, while Martin Guevara and Lee Stoops also had two hits.
Andrew Hightower took the loss.
The Bobcats scored all eight of their eight runs in the first three innings of the second game to lead 8-1 before the Tigers tallied a run in fourth and two in the sixth for cosmetic purposes.
CCC again had plenty of hits — 12 — including three by Masaki Yamashita, who also had two RBIs. Drew Schiesser added two hits, including a double.
Doug Gove took the loss, though only four of the eight runs he allowed were earned.
The Tigers, now 1-7 in the KCAC, will try to snap out of their doldrums Tuesday when they play at Manhattan Christian. First pitch is 2 p.m.
