McPherson High’s baseball team will be without first-year coach Steve Williams for at least today’s twinbill at Andale.

Williams, formerly the longtime head coach at Hutchinson High, has been suspended, according a press release issued earlier today.

The release states:

“On Monday, March 31, McPherson High School head baseball coach, Steve Williams, was suspended with pay from his coaching duties. This suspension will remain in force until the Board of Education has an opportunity to review the situation. During the suspension, assistant coach Grant Myers will assume the head coaching responsibilities. No additional details will be released until the Board of Education has an opportunity to review the case.”

The Bullpups opened their season last week with a split at Rose Hill.
