Mac's Rotering earns KCAC honor

McPherson College’s Paul Rotering was named today as the KCAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Rotering, a senior from Colorado Springs, Colo., earned the honor with a strong overall performance Saturday at the Friends University Enduro Classic.  

He placed first in the shot put with a mark of 49-9 1/4, third in the javelin with a throw of 193-6 1/2 and fourth in the discus with a distance of 141-10. His mark in the javelin currently ranks seventh overall in the NAIA, and also met the "A" Qualifying Standard for Outdoor Nationals.  Rotering is first in the KCAC in shot put and second in javelin.

Rotering and his teammates will next be competing at the Hutchinson Community College Night Relays, which are scheduled for Saturday in Hutchinson.
