LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s Kaitlyn Davis took home the KCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors, which were announced on Monday.
The senior from Hill City won the high jump at Friends with a mark of 5-5. She is currently ranked first in the KCAC and is tied for fifth in the NAIA. With her jump, Davis met the "B" Qualifying Standard for Outdoor Nationals. She narrowly missed her attempt two inches above the "A" standard. The height also would have been a school record.
"We are very proud of Kaitlyn. She is an extremely hard worker with a very bright season ahead of her," Bethany coach Ken Ciolek said. "She is just now starting to put things together and with good weather will make for high marks."
Davis is coming off of an impressive indoor season in which she set the school indoor record and competed in the NAIATrack and Field Championships in Geneva, Ohio. She finished in 10th place just missing the mark which would have placed her in fourth.
