MANHATTAN — Central Christian College’s baseball team took out a lot of frustration on Manhattan Christian on Tuesday.
The Tigers obliterated the Crusaders’ pitching staff for a 19-5 victory.
CCC, which had lost 13 of its previous 14 games after a nice start to the season, scored nine runs in the second inning. In fact, the Tigers scored in every inning but one.
Fourteen of the Tigers’ 17 hits were singles. Doubles were by Drew Schiesser, Lee Stoops and Masaki Yamashita.
Schiesser had four hits total and four RBIs. Alex Rodriguez also had four hits and drove in two runs. Stoops and Tyler Gniadek drove in three runs apiece.
Austin Penn, the second of four CCC pitchers, was the winner with three hitless innings as he faced only nine batters.
CCC, now 16-22 overall, hosts Waldorf College this weekend in a four-game series.
