CCC softball team drops twinbill

Mid-America Christian’s softball team scored two touchdowns in both games here Thursday to deal Central Christian College a pair of losses.

M-AC won 14-1 in the first game and 14-6 in the second.

In the opener, Mid-America scored 12 of its runs in the first three innings and ended the game in the fifth. Kristen Hall took the loss. CCC did pepper the ball for eight hits, but couldn’t bunch them together. Sydney Nelson and Brooklynn Lemons had two singles apiece for the Lady Tigers.

CCC was down 8-4 after three innings in the second game when the Evangels scored six times in the fourth to blow it open.

Nicole Martin took the loss.

Ashly Westgarth had a double and two singles for Central, while scoring three runs. Hall drove in five of the six runs.

CCC is now 8-24 and hosts Ecclesia College at 1 p.m. Saturday.
