LITTLE RIVER — It was an amazing day of pitching for the Little River Redskins on Friday against Inman.
In the opener, Little River’s Tevin Renken threw a perfect game in the Redskins’ 5-0 victory.
Renken struck out 18 of the 21 batters he faced. Amazingly, 62 of his 81 pitches were for strikes as the Teutons simply couldn’t put a bat on the ball.
Teuton pitchers Wyatt Regehr and Noah Tuscon weren’t bad themselves, as just two of the five Little River runs were earned and the Redskins had just five hits, four of them singles. Grant Harvey’s double was the only extra-base knock.
Cordell Moore followed up Renken’s perfect game with a no-hitter of his own, as Little River won the second game, 5-1. He was effectively wild with eight walks, but also fanned five in throwing 120 pitches. Again, the Teutons’ pitching wasn’t bad, as Treyton DeVore allowed only two earned runs and no walks.
Renken was much of the offense with a double and two singles. Kyler Cox also had a double.
