MARION — McPherson High track and field coach Jace Pavlovich says once his boys and girls’ teams get healthy, they could be a force to be reckoned with.

The Bullpups didn’t have all hands on deck Friday at the Marion Invitational, but still turned in some quality marks.

Bri Cooks continues to look like one of the favorites in Class 4A in the shot put, as she extended her PR to 42-3 3/4 for the only gold for the MHS girls. She also was second in the discus.

Other good days for the girls were by Laynie Moore (second in the 100), Kamryn Collins (three placings, including second in the 200) and Ivanna Moyer (second in the shot, third in the discus).

On the boys’ side, Collin Harvey still isn’t 100 percent, but still won the 100 (11.6) and 200 (22.8). Three MHS relays also took second.
