MOUNDRIDGE — Marion flexed some offensive muscle Friday in pounding out 12-1 and 14-1 baseball wins over Moundridge.
The first game was tied at 1-all until the fourth when the Warriors scored two runs, which they followed with two more runs in the fifth and five in the sixth.
MHS was held to five hits. Garrett Higgins cracked a double and single to lead the Wildcats and Kyle Huxman also had a double.
Trenton Olson took the loss.
The second-game score actually was quite deceptive. It was only 3-1 going into the sixth when the Warriors got on the merry-go-round to score 11 runs.
MHS had only two hits, singles by Olson and Nick Leddy.
Dylan Sugars took the loss, though he allowed only five runs in five innings. Huxman came on and gave up only three hits, but Wildcat errors led to nine unearned runs.
Moundridge is now 1-5. It hosts Ell-Saline on Tuesday.
