HILLSBORO — Bethany College’s women’s tennis team lost its third straight conference match Saturday, its second straight by a 5-4 score to Tabor.

Bethany is now 0-3 in the KCAC, 3-7 overall. It was Tabor’s first conference win in four tries and it’s now 4-5 overall.

The Swedes got off to a fast start, winning 2-out-of-3 doubles matches.

Kara Agamaite and Juliana Bezerra set the tone early winning the No. 1 doubles match, 8-5. Mackenzi Choitz  and Amelia Fabrizius  also won the No. 3 doubles match, 8-6.

Bezerra also won her No. 2 singles match, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Choitz won the No. 3 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. That was all the points the Swedes would get, however, as the Bluejays ran the table collecting all three of the remaining available singles points.

Bethany came back to win a 5-4 non-KCAC verdict against Seward County, with Choitz leading the way with a win in singles and in doubles.

The women's tennis team will be back in action Monday when it travels to Ottawa.
