HILLSBORO — Despite a nice day by Darian Gonzalez, the Hesston High softball team lost a pair of games Friday to Hillsboro to fall to 0-4 on the season.

The Trojans rolled to 9-2 and 13-1 victories.

Gonzalez certainly did her part, coming up with five hits in seven at-bats in the two games. She had a triple in the first game, as did Caroline Winslow. She stole a base in both games. Abigail Shirley hit a homer in the first game for the biggest Hesston hit of the day.

Hillsboro scored six runs in the second inning of the first game to take command, then used a six-run third inning in the second game to basically decide the outcome.

MaKayla Holopirek was the Hesston pitcher of record in both games.
