BC's Shepherd, Russell honored for academics

LINDSBORG — Two members of the Bethany College women's soccer team have been named KCAC Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes.

Junior Jessica Shepherd, an elementary education major from Valley, Neb., and  sophomore Jeana-Brinae Russell, a chemistry major from Aurora, Colo, received the honor.

"We are so proud of Jessica Shepherd and Jeana-Brinae Russell for their accomplishment of All-KCAC Scholar Athlete team," Bethany coach Sean McMannis said. "To be able to perform both on the field and off the field is what it is all about. Their hard work and dedication has paid off. I could not be more proud of them." 

Student-athletes must hold sophomore standing at the start of the sport season, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.33 on a 4.0 scale and letter in their sport.
