Patrick Munsey’s first-place finish at No. 2 singles Tuesday highlighted McPherson High’s performances in a JV tournament it hosted at the MHS Tennis Complex.
Munsey went 3-0 on the day. Hadley Hageman, at No. 1 singles, was 2-1 to take fifth place.
Behind that strong singles play, the Bullpups tied with Newton for second place with 22 points, trailing only Buhler (28).
There were eight teams in all.
In doubles, Nick Carlson and Daniel Fallis went 2-1 for second place at No. 1, while Dalyn Chapman and Thomas Smith were sixth at No. 2 by going 0-2.
MHS also had two individual entries, as the No. 2 doubles team of Price Kramer and Trey Hett went 0-2 for seventh, while Jerome Dishmon was 0-3 for eighth.
