Strong showing for Teuton thinclads

HAVEN — Only Haven stood between Inman’s track and field teams and the championship of the Haven CKTL Track and Field Meet on Tuesday.

Both Teuton teams had good days, but fell short to the bigger-school Wildcats.

The Inman girls scored 71 points to trail only the Wildcats (133). Centre (62), Burrton (38) and Peabody (13) completed the scoring.

Inman’s Emma Aberg won the 100 (12.9), while Krystan Miller took the gold in the 200 (28.1).

The Teutons also were strong in the relays, winning the 4 x 100 in 51.6 (Nicole Neufeldt, Krystan Miller, Krystal Miller and Aberg) and the 4 x 400 in 4:38.2 (Aberg, Kristin Miller, Maggie Shuler and Taryn Glenn).

Krystan Miller had a second in the 100, Shuler had a second in the 300 hurdles and Naomi Williams was runner-up in the shot.

The Inman boys scored a healthy 94 points to trail the 126 scored by Haven. Far back were Burrton (64), Peabody (57) and Centre (13).

Teuton gold-medal performers were Lucas Barlow in the 400 (58.3), Ben Pankratz in the 3,200 (12:23.2) and the 4 x 800 relay team of Barlow, Pankratz, Daniel Webb and Tyler Gordon (10:14).

Earning silvers were Gordon in the 1,600, Caleb Renner in the 3,200, Justin Friesen in both the 100 and 300 hurdles, the 4 x 100 relay team of Ethan Counsell, Logan Hall, Tyler Cottam and Friesen, the 4 x 400 relay team of Barlow, Gordon, Friesen and Counsell, Barkley Williams in the high jump, Tyler Cottam in the triple jump and Hank Thiessen in the javelin.
