NEW ORLEANS — In the latest poll by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, McPherson College has received 107.61 points, which places it 24th in the NAIA.
This is the first time in the history of the program that McPherson has received national recognition.
The leading team is Indiana Tech, which has garnered 591.98 points.
"Our women's team and the coaching staff have put in a lot of effort to strengthen the program," Mac coach Cameron Magnall said. "This ranking is recognition of all that hard work starting to pay off."
The Bulldogs having been improving year by year and are coming off a second-place finish in the 2014 KCAC Indoor Track & Field Championship meet. They are one of two favorites for the upcoming outdoor conference championships, which are scheduled for April 2-3 at Bethel College in North Newton.
