BELLEVUE, Neb. — Central Christian College’s baseball team dropped a pair of games Friday to Bellevue.
The Tigers were right with the Bruins in the nine-inning opener, losing 5-3. Bellevue scored three runs in the seventh to take a 5-1 lead before CCC made it interesting in the eighth with a pair of tallies.
No Tiger had more than one hit. Lee Stoops and Clayton Lacher hit doubles. Alan Barker was the losing pitcher.
The second game was decided in the first inning when the Bruins scored nine runs as the kick-start to a 10-1 win. The Tigers’ Andrew Hightower threw 5 1/3 innings of quality relief, giving up only two runs.
Martin Guevara recorded two of the Tigers’ three hits.
Central is now 4-14 in the MCAC and 20-29 overall. It plays two more games against Bellevue today.
