This was the kind of pitching that Central Christian College softball coach Chad Kerr envisioned at the start of the season.
Lady Tiger pitcher Kristen Hall delivered nothing but zeroes as CCC swept Oklahoma Wesleyan in a pair of spine-tinglers here Friday, 1-0 and 2-0.
Hall threw a three-hit, no-walk beauty in the first game, with the only run coming in the third inning by Ashly Westgarth on a Sydney Nelson sac fly. Hall struck out five and faced only four batters over the minimum.
Since she was so strong in the first game, she stayed on the mound for the second game and continued to flummox the Eagles. She again threw a three-hitter without a walk, this time striking out eight.
For the two games, she threw 14 innings, allowing six hits, no walks and fanned 13.
Brooklynn Lemons and Dana Dean scored runs for CCC in the nightcap. Jenna Daniel was the hard-luck loser in both games for Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Lady Tigers are on the field here today against Central Baptist, the top team in the MCAC. CCC is 7-11 in the MCAC and 14-30 overall.
First pitch is noon.
