WICHITA — It didn’t start well for McPherson College’s softball team on Friday against Friends and it never got any better.

The Bulldogs lost an 11-6 verdict in the first game, then were drubbed 18-0 in the nightcap to fall to 6-10 in the KCAC, 13-20 overall.

Mac trailed only 5-4 in the first game when the Falcons started to pull away. Mac did have 10 hits, including two homers by Amanda Darrow and another by Jenna Kaiser. Friends had five homers in the game, as the ball was flying.

Ariel McGee was 3 for 4 for Mac, while Darrow had two hits.

Kaila Atkinson took the loss.

The second game was nightmarish, with the Falcons erupting for 11 runs in the third inning. Mac was held without a hit as it was one of those games to forget for the Bulldogs.

Mac hosts Tabor on Tuesday. It will be Senior Day, with first pitch at 5 p.m. at Wall Park.
