Snow, Savage shine for C-G thinclads

STERLING — Zach Snow and Cody Savage had big days Tuesday for the Canton-Galva track and field team in the Sterling Invitational.

Snow captured the 110 hurdles (17.2) and 300 hurdles (44.1), while also finishing second in the triple jump.

Savage placed in four events, including firsts in the 100 (11.2) and 200 (23.4). He also was second in the shot and third in the javelin.

Trey Moddelmog went 6-1 to capture the high jump and the 4 x 100 relay team of Moddelmog, Lane Wiens, Travis Unruh and Trevor Unruh also was unbeatable by running a 9:55.

The Eagles scored 92 points to finish second only to Sterling.

On the girls’ side, C-G scored 22 points to take fourth place. The top day was turned in by Anna Wesley, who was third in the 400 and fourth in the 100. Cody Nightingale also placed in two events, fifth in the discus and sixth in the shot.
