Baseball Lions too much for Vikings

LINDSBORG — Lyons got the better of Smoky Valley in a pair of baseball games contested on Tuesday.

The Lions were an 11-1 winner in the first game, with five runs in the second inning the beginning of the separation between the teams.

Tim Ruble’s double was the big hit for the Vikings. Bradden Bergman took the loss.

Lyons scored eight runs in the second inning of the second game to highlight its 17-4 victory. Kirk Barnes had a pair of singles to lead Smoky Valley, with Josh Allbright taking the loss.

The Vikings are now 1-9 and play Friday at Nickerson.
