Nowak, Schrader take 1st for MMS netters

SALINA — McPherson Middle School’s tennis teams competed Wednesday in the Salina Doubles Invitational, with the highlight being a first-place finish from the boys’ No. 1 team of Jarrod Nowak and Nolan Schrader.

The duo went 6-0 on the day.

Also for the boys, the team of Andrew Snell and Kaden Stewart went 5-1 to take third place.

The team of Jace Kinnamon and Brycen Gipson was 4-2 for fifth and the team of Aaron Carlson and Alex Milleson went 2-4 for 13th.

The Bullpups were second as a team.

For the girls, Maisie Edmonson and Cheyann Williams went 4-2 for fourth. Other finishes were the teams of Madison Schmidt-Kallie Jost (3-3, 6th), Riley Hett-Ashley Achilles (2-4, 8th) and Bailey Dykes-MaKayla Lacey (0-6, 16th).

The girls also took second place.
