Like the women, the McPherson College men’s tennis team earned its fair share of postseason honors that were released Thursday by the KCAC

Rafael Bulnes and Joan-Marc Fajula Rodriguez garnered first-team selections, with Mark Mahn making the second game.

Fajula Rodriguez also was named KCAC Freshman of the Year

Bulnes (Rosmalen, Netherlands) has played the No. 1 position all year for the Bulldogs, going 12-4 with his lone losses coming to Top-25 nationally ranked players.  He was named the KCAC's Athlete of the Week earlier in the season.  When pairing up with Fajula Rodriguez for doubles, the duo is 14-5, again with losses to just ranked opponents.  Bulnes is ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in singles and No. 13 in doubles. He is the No. 3 player in the Central Region.

With his victory last week against fellow freshman Matthew Barlow of Ottawa University, Fajula Rodriguez (Olot, Spain) essentially clinched the Freshman of the Year honors.  He sits at 14-5 this season in singles. His defeats came at the hands of some of the nation's top players.  Fajula Rodriguez currently ranks No. 3 in the Central Region and No. 15 in the nation in singles and No. 3 in the Central and No. 13 Nationally in doubles as announced by the ITA.

Mahan (Fullerton, Calif.) is the lone senior on the list for McPherson and only the third for any conference institution to make one of the two All-KCAC teams.  Battling back from an injury, he has slowly moved up the lineup to the No. 3 position in singles and holds a record of 6-2 at that position.  In doubles this year, Mahan has played with a couple of teammates and sits at 4-2.

Mac is competing today in the KCAC Championships.
