KCAC baseball leader and nationally ranked Tabor College took a twinbill from McPherson College here Friday in the Bulldogs’ final home appearance of the season.
The Bluejays spoiled the Bulldogs’ day with 11 first-inning runs to key a 23-5 first-game rout. Tabor had a colossal day at the plate with 24 hits, including six home runs. Kirk Rocha and Kevin Seeger both hit two apiece and combined for 10 RBIs, with Seeger driving in six.
Taylor Werts homered for the Bulldogs and also singled, good for four RBIs. Dorian Shelton collected two hits from the N0. 9 hole.
Nolan Huelsmann took the loss.
Tabor held off the Bulldogs 8-5 in the second game, as Mac came up with four runs in the final inning on an Austin Russell grand slam. He was 3 for 4 with four RBIs.
Shelton and Werts also had two hits. Scott Hughes took the loss.
Mac is now 10-16 in the KCAC and 16-30 overall. It plays the Bluejays again today, with Hillsboro the venue. The games complete the regular season.
