SALINA — TJ Stites and Dylan Blosser shared McPherson High golf team honors Friday in the Salina South Invitational, though the tournament will best be remembered for the amazing performance turned in by Kale Reynolds.
The Maize High golfer shot a stunning 7-under-par 63 to blow the field away by 11 strokes. He shot a 1-under 34 on the front nine, then a shocking 6-under 29 on the back nine.
Sacred Heart’s Brooks Brown led the “second tournament” with a 74, one stroke better than Derby’s Jeremy Dunham.
Stites and Blosser shot rounds of 84, as MHS totaled 344 for ninth place. Maize, behind Reynolds, shot a 299 for first, 16 shots better than Hays.
Other Bullpup scores were Casey Cheek (87), Jacob Lackey (89), Wyatt Porter (92) and Kaden Warren (94).
