McPherson College was on lockdown Sunday afternoon while police dealt with a barricaded person at a home nearby. The incident occurred in the 300 block of N. Carrie St. The school is located only about one block away in the 1600 block of E. Euclid St.

The 47-year-old female was taken into custody around 5:15 p.m. and was being transported for a medical evaluation and treatment. No one was injured in the incident.

The McPherson Police Department says the college was placed on lockdown because of the "proximity to the situation." Students were asked to stay inside of rooms and not to leave campus for about two hours according to McPherson PD.

Along with the police department, McPherson EMS, Fire Department, Sheriff's Office, LifeTeam, and County 911 all worked to resolve the issue.
