BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — Central Christian College’s baseball team completed its season this past weekend by dropping a four-game series to No. 5-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan.
The Tigers finished the season 20-35, their best mark since 2010 and a 13-game improvement over last year. The team had only three seniors — Robert Hawkins, Matt Fuksa and Tyler Gniadek.
• Oklahoma Wesleyan 23, CCC 0 — The Eagles scored no less than two runs in each of the first six innings, punctuated by six runs in the sixth. CCC had four hits, two by Clayton Lacher — both doubles. Alex Rodriguez and Daniel Padilla had the other hits. Zane Howard took the loss.
• Oklahoma Wesleyan 10, CCC 1 — The Tigers collected just two hits in the game, singles by Rodriguez and Lee Stoops. The Eagles scored three runs in the first and two in the second as the springboard to success. Alan Barker took the loss.
• Oklahoma Wesleyan 9, CCC 4 — The Eagles scored four runs in the first inning before the Tigers played them nearly even the rest of the way. Lacher hit a two-run homer for the big blow and six different Tigers had one hit each. Hawkins took the loss.
• Oklahoma Wesleyan 15, CCC 6 — The Eagles continued to do early damage, scoring four runs in the first two innings. CCC did tie the game at 4-all in the fourth, but the Eagles scored 11 runs over the next two innings. Christian Herbig was 3 for 3 for the Tigers, while Drew Schiesser drove in two runs. Nicholas Campos took the loss.
