ASHLAND, Neb. — Central Christian College golfers Treg Fawl and Mark Gayer earned first-team MCAC-Northstar Conference honors during 36-hole tournament play that was completed Monday, while today’s final 18-hole round was cancelled because of weather.
Fawl finished third overall after shooting even-par through Monday’s two rounds. He shot an opening-round 71 and followed that up with a 73 for a 144 total. He finished three strokes behind champion Mike Hannon of Bellevue (69-72-141) and runner-up Jose Vega, also of Bellevue, who had rounds of 69-73-142.
Gayer shot rounds of 75-74-149 to tie for seventh place.
The Tigers finished fifth as a team. Other scores were Brady Sherman (85-80-165), Joshua Paine (90-87-177) and Mathew Hargett (89-92-181).
Bellevue shot a two-day 572 to win by 28 strokes over Oklahoma Wesleyan.
