For the first time in the 40-plus-year history of the women's tennis program at McPherson College, the Bulldogs are ranked in the Top 25 of the NAIA.
The Bulldogs have entered in the No. 25 spot.
As noted by the NAIA, "McPherson (Kan.) was the lone newcomer to the Top 25 this edition and is making its first-ever Top 25 appearance after winning the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament."
It was a very strong showing by Mac at the KCAC Tournament this past weekend. After flying through the conference in the regular season, winning 56 matches while losing just seven, the Bulldogs continued to show their dominance over their league opponents, winning all but one of the 11 matches played in the two-round conference tournament.
McPherson now must wait until May 5 to find out who it will play in the 2014 NAIA National Women's Tennis Championships, which are scheduled to start on May 13 in Mobile, Ala.
