LINDSBORG — Alex Peterson has signed a letter of intent to play men's basketball at Bethany College for head coach Clair Oleen in the 2014-15 academic year.
Peterson comes to Bethany from Blue Valley High School in Stilwell, where he played a year of baseball and two years of football in addition to playing four years of basketball. The 6-3 guard averaged just shy of 10 points per game, four rebounds per game and two assists per game in his senior year.
Peterson was an EKL honorable mention and an EKL Scholar-Athlete. He was also named to the Principal’s Honor Roll while in high school.
"We are pleased to have Alex Peterson choose to continue his education and basketball career at Bethany College," Oleen said. "Alex is tremendous student and super young man who has a lot of basketball upside. We have some Bethany basketball alumni families at Blue Valley High School, the families of former Bethany basketball players Todd Geiman and Brad Rolfs."
Peterson is the son of Jim and Keri Peterson. He has a 3.89 grade point average and plans to major in chemistry while at Bethany.
