HALSTEAD — Smoky Valley’s softball team made it six wins in its last eight games Monday by plundering Halstead in a twinbill.
The Vikings won the first game 12-2, scoring three runs in the second inning, four in the third and five in the fifth to end the game early.
Brynne Stockman leveled her record at 4-4, striking out seven and allowing only three hits. She also drove in two runs.
Other hitting stars were Carly Kolling (two hits, two runs), Hannah Morrical (two hits, one a double, three runs), Keni Campbell (two hits, one a double, three runs) and Hannah McBride (two hits, one a double, two runs, three RBIs).
The Vikings scored in five of seven innings in the second game for a 16-3 cruiser. McBride hiked her record to 3-5.
Top hitters were Allison Karber (four hits, three runs), Morgan Loder (two hits, one a double, two runs, three RBIs), Jurnee Gregg (two runs, two RBIs), Kolling (two hits), Morrical (two runs, three RBIs) and McBride (two RBIs).
The Vikings are now 7-9, 6-8 in CKL play. The team hosts Kingman on Friday.
