El Dorado's Haury among five new signees for Mac

McPherson College men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber has announced the addition of five more players for next season’s team.

• Brady Eberhart (6-0, SG, Fr., Yale, Okla. / Yale High School)

Coming to McPherson from Yale High School, Eberhart is a 6-0 shooting guard who played for the YHS Bulldogs of coach Rocky Kennedy.

During his tenure at Yale, Eberhart tallied 13.2 points per game and also recorded 2.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds a night. He boasted a 42 percent field goal percentage, 30 percent from 3-point distance and 80 percent from the foul stripe. Eberhart was a 2012 and 2014 Tulsa World Honorable Mention All-State and also made the Stillwater Newspress All-Area Second Team as a senior as well as the Oklahoma Coaches Association 2A All-State squad.

Brady is the son of Kevin and Belinda Eberhart and plans on pursuing a degree in physical therapy.

• Jake Lazenby (6-1, SG, Fr., Glencoe, Okla. / Glencoe High School)

Lazenby is a shooting guard from Glencoe High School in Glencoe, Okla. He makes his way t0 Bulldog basketball after lettering four seasons for the Glencoe Panthers and coach John Lazenby.

The two-time state champion made the OSSAA All-State team and was an All-State Tournament selection as awarded by the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association. In his senior season, Lazenby averaged 20.1 points per game while shooting in 44.3 from the floor. He also handed out 4.2 assists and grabbed 3.5 rebounds each time out. Throughout his tenure at GHS, Lazenby scored more than 2,000 points.

Jake is the son of John Lazenby and has yet to declare a major.

• Jared Haury (6-5, F, Fr., El Dorado / El Dorado High School)

Haury joins the Bulldogs after a successful four-year stint at El Dorado High School and head coach Gary Melcher.

For his career, Haury averaged 10.3 points a night along with 6.6 rebounds. The forward was selected Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division III second team following his junior and senior seasons. He also made honorable mention All-State during those years.

Jared is a President's Honor Roll student and will be majoring in business at McPherson. He is the son of Larry and Dana Haury.

• Louis Parker (6-1, F, Fr., Midwest City, Okla. / Midwest City High School)

A 6-1 forward, Parker comes to McPherson College after playing for the Midwest City Bombers and coach Dewayne Bradley.

As a senior, Parker recorded 9.4 points per contest along with seven rebounds. He tabulated 23 blocks throughout the season and was named All-Conference honorable mention.

Louis comes to MC as a communications major and is the son of Louis and Cherrie Parker.

• Shawn Smith (6-7, F, Fr., Salina / Salina South High School)

The former Cougar, Smith is a 6-7 forward from Salina South High School where he played for coach Matt Renk for his first three years and coach Jason Hooper in 2013-14.

As a junior, Smith was voted as the Most Improved Player for the state-qualifying Salina South squad. He also was given the Superintendent Excellence award in 2013.

Shawn is the son of Jerri Smith and has yet to declare what he will be majoring in at McPherson.
