Central Christian College track and field coach Dan Swaney has added a sprinter to his roster for the 2014-15 season.
Derrick LePard, from Litchfield, Ariz., has signed a letter of intent to run for the Tigers next year. LePard is a four-year letterwinner for the Agua Fria High School Owls and head track and field coach Jarred Perkins.
Swaney is excited for LaPard to join the program next year.
“I’m very happy that Derrick has chosen to continue his athletic career as part of our new team next year,” Swaney said. “He will bring some much-needed depth to our sprint group.”
LePard plans on studying in the Exercise Science department while attending Central next fall. He currently has a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.04. He is the son of Tina and Thor LePard.
