Trost, Porter medal for ECS thinclads

GOESSEL — Elyria Christian School’s track and field team competed Thursday in the Wheat State League Championships, with two performers earning medals, while the team as a whole compiled 19 personal-best marks.

The Eagles came up with a pair of third-place medals, Darian Trost in the 400 meters (1:11.4) and Aaron Porter (11.55.5) in the 3,200 meters.

ECS’ girls were seventh with 20 points and the boys took ninth with 7 points.

“We are extremely proud of our athletes and what they have accomplished this year,” ECS coach Bobby Childs said.

Here are other Top 6 finishes for the Eagles:

GIRLS

400 — 4. Misha Redenbaugh, 1:12.5. 6. Micah Redenbaugh, 1:26.2.

1600 — 5. Trost, 6:14.3.

300 hurdles — 6. Moriah Redenbaugh, 1:02.2.

Shot put — 6. Trost, 23-11 1/2.

4 x 100 relay — 5. (Anderson, Applequist, Redenbaugh, Redenbaugh), 1:00.4.

4 x 400 relay — 5. (Redenbaugh, Redenbaugh, Trost and Redenbaugh), 5:26.9.

BOYS

300 hurdles — 6. Porter, 47.6.

The team competes next week in regional action at Burlington.
