INMAN — Treyton DeVore, arguably the heart and soul of Inman High’s baseball team, has signed a letter of intent to continue his career next year at McPherson College.
DeVore will be welcomed both for his pitching and hitting. He is 3-2 with a 1.40 ERA with just five walks in 30 innings.
At the plate, he’s hitting a robust .510 with nine doubles, a triple and 22 RBIs, while stealing 12 bases.
“Treyton has been a big part of Inman baseball for four years,” IHS coach Jim Preston said. “He is a great competitor and a joy to coach. He is a two-time All-State player with a good possibility of being three-time All-State.”
The Teutons are playing today in the Canton-Galva regional at Galva against the host Eagles. If they win, they play Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
