MOUNDRIDGE — Sterling and Inman punched their tickets to today’s semifinals of the Moundridge Class 2-1A Regional Softball Tournament.

Sterling run-ruled first-year program Little River on Monday, 15-0. The Black Bears were aided by 11 walks, but also unloaded some heavy aluminum with a pair of two-run homers, a two-run triple and a two-run double.

Sterling plays Hillsboro at 3 p.m. today.

Inman cruised past Canton-Galva 13-3 to set up a 4:45 p.m. date today with old rival Moundridge.

The game was close until the Teutons scored six times in the fourth inning to take command.

Kristen Knackstedt scored three runs and Allison Gordon drove in three to lead the Inman offense, which benefitted from several walks as the Teutons were held to six hits. Knackstedt was the winning pitcher in relief, allowing just two hits in her 3 1/3 innings.

Erika Smith took the loss for C-G.

The championship game will follow the Inman-Moundridge semifinal game. The starting time is approximately 6:30 p.m.
